My entry for the July Four-Thirds Photo "Outdoor" contest entry.
Unfortunately it didn't place, but a neat shot none that still ranks among my favourites of the batch.
Shot off the Riviera Maya costline into the Bahia Akumal (Carribean Sea) on the far side of the Palladium White Sands Resort.
If I ever needed encouragement to go back, this view would be it.
This shot was quite good on it's own, however excessive glare from the amazingly blue sky was reflecting off the (hand-polished) bench seat. As a mass of blue-white fuzz, the bench was throwing off the entire shot (nearly sending it to the recycle bin), however after selectively darkening the area, the texture of the wood was revealed.
Thank you 10 MP sensor data!
Although you may get a bit more noise from these super-crammed sensor arrays, you sure can bully the pixels around alot to get what you're looking for.
